UBA Kenya Appoints Chike Isiuwe as New CEO and MD

On August 20, 2021, United Bank of Africa Kenya announced the appointment of Chike Isiuwe as its new Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director.

Isiuwe takes over from Kehinde Omirinde, who had been leading the bank in an acting capacity.

With over two decades of experience in the banking industry, Isiuwe has worked across various fields, including customer experience, corporate banking, consumer banking, marketing, relationship management, and credit underwriting.

Before joining UBA Africa, Isiuwe worked at Zenith Bank plc for 17 years, starting as a bank teller and progressing to relationship management in corporate and commercial banking and in various capacities in branch operations.

Isiuwe holds a Bachelor of Science in Economics from the University of Nigeria and a Diploma in Computer Science. He also holds various professional certifications, including Project Finance, Loan and Transaction structuring, and Transformational leadership.

UBA Kenya, a subsidiary of UBA Plc, has been operating in Kenya since 2009 and is licensed under the Central Bank of Kenya.
