On August 18, 2021, a brazen phone snatcher was caught in the act in Nairobi's Ngara area, leaving a trail of shock and awe in his wake.
A policewoman, who was undercover in the area, had her phone snatched by the suspect, a middle-aged man, as she went about her duties.
Witnesses claim the suspect quietly approached the policewoman and snatched her phone before making a run for it towards the CBD on Muranga Road.
The policewoman, however, was not one to be outsmarted. She fired two gunshots in the air to alert the public and give chase to the suspect.
Thanks to her quick thinking, the public was alerted, and the suspect was eventually caught and handcuffed by the officer.
What's more, the policewoman took it upon herself to protect the suspect from an angry mob that had gathered, ensuring he was taken to the Central Police Station for further action.
