On August 19, 2021, Deputy President William Ruto expressed the sentiments of Kenyans, stating that they are no longer interested in politics that does not improve their lives.

Speaking to religious leaders from Embu County at his Karen residence, Ruto emphasized the need for an economic revolution to create an equal-opportunity society.

He explained that the proposed policy aims to generate millions of jobs and create a conducive business environment.

However, Ruto noted that many political figures are unhappy with the progress and are planning to derail it.

"There are multiple plans to derail it. But they will not succeed. We are building an indomitable alliance of the ordinary people that will propel this grand dream," Ruto added.
