Kenya's Benson Kiplangat made history at the World Athletics Under-20 Championships on August 19, 2021, by claiming the country's first gold medal in the men's 5,000m event.
Competing against Ethiopia's Tardese Worku, Kiplangat delivered a stunning performance, crossing the finish line in a personal best time of 13:20.37 to secure the top spot.
Levy Kibet rounded out the podium with a bronze medal, completing the Kenyan trio's impressive showing at the championships.
