On August 3, Ivory Coast President Alassane Ouattara announced that he was self-isolating due to Covid-19, but the presidency did not confirm whether he had tested positive for the coronavirus at that time.
However, in a statement on August 18, 2021, the presidency revealed that Ouattara had indeed tested positive for Covid-19 and was undergoing treatment.
Fortunately, Ouattara has now recovered from the virus, as confirmed by the presidency on August 18, 2021. He has since tested negative and returned to his usual activities.
