Published on August 19, 2021, a day that saw four people lose their lives in two separate road accidents along the Nairobi-Nakuru highway.

According to reports, three men died on the spot after their vehicle was involved in a head-on collision with a trailer near Gilgil town. The incident occurred around 5 am, when the trailer rammed their car, causing significant damage.

At the scene, the mixture of blood and fuel flowed freely, with personal effects scattered all over. The victims were on their way to Nakuru when the accident occurred.

Naivasha OCPD Samuel Waweru decried the rising number of fatal accidents involving boda boda operators, attributing the cases to speeding and fog. In a separate incident, a boda boda operator was hit and killed by a motorist in Karai, Naivasha, while ferrying potatoes to a nearby market.

Residents of Ihindu trading centre had earlier blocked the highway for over two hours to protest the rising number of fatal accidents involving pedestrians and motorcycle operators.
