On Tuesday night, a tragic incident occurred at the Doldol Police Station in Laikipia County, where a police officer fatally shot his colleague.
According to Area County Commissioner Daniel Nyameti, the incident took place at the police line where two officers were sharing a house.
Mr. Nyameti stated, "The officer was reported to have shot dead his colleague Leonard Ojwang. He has since gone into hiding and we are looking for him."
The motive behind the officer's actions remains unclear, as the argument that led to the shooting has not been disclosed.
Mr. Nyameti further added, "The officer is on the run, and he is still armed with an AK 47 assigned to him."
The body of the deceased officer has been moved to the Nanyuki County Hospital mortuary.
