Kenya's Noah Kibet and Emmanuel Wanyonyi Shine at World Under-20 Athletics Championships

At the World Under-20 Athletics Championships, being held at the Moi Sports Complex in Kasarani, Kenya's Noah Kibet and Emmanuel Wanyonyi have made a strong impression in the 800m heats.

On August 19, 2021, Kibet crossed the finish line first in 1:46.70, while Wanyonyi won his heat in 1:46.51, securing their spots in the final.

Meanwhile, in the men's 400m hurdles, Peter Kithome and Alocias Kipngetich have both qualified for the semi-finals. Kipngetich set a new season-best time of 51.41, despite finishing fourth in his heat, which was won by Jamaica's Roshawn Clarke in 50.93.

Kithome, a form three student at St. Valentines High School in Machakos County, clocked 51.31 in his heat.

The World Under-20 Athletics Championships are being held in Kasarani, with several Kenyan athletes expected to compete in the men and women's races, including the Men 5000m and Women's 3000m finals.
