Published on August 19, 2021, Cameroon's Indomitable Lions are gearing up to host the Africa Cup of Nations next year, and the team's assistant coach, François Omam Biyik, is confident about their chances of success.

Cameroon will kick off their group campaign against Burkina Faso on January 9, 2022, at the newly built Olembe Stadium. The team will be competing in Group A alongside Ethiopia and Cape Verde.

According to François Omam Biyik, the draw for the TotalEnergies Africa Cup of Nations, Cameroon 2021, has been favorable for the Indomitable Lions. He emphasized that Burkina Faso, Ethiopia, and Cape Verde are not a bad draw for Cameroon, as they could have had worse opponents.

However, the team's assistant coach also cautioned that their opponents, particularly Cape Verde, will pose a challenge. He urged the team to respect all their opponents and take the tournament one game at a time.

Cameroon won their fifth AFCON trophy in 2017, but were eliminated by Nigeria in the round of 16 in 2019. François Omam Biyik believes that this generation of Indomitable Lions has the talent and mentality to win the tournament and is confident that they will succeed when the time comes.
