On June 30, 2021, TotalEnergies Kenya, an oil marketer and distributor, announced a significant improvement in its half-year profit. The company's net profit jumped to KSh1.7 billion, a 50% increase from KSh1.1 billion in the same period the previous year.
According to the company, the economic recovery in Kenya during the first half of 2021 contributed to the improved performance. Additionally, TotalEnergies reported a 10% increase in net sales to KSh34.5 billion, up from KSh31.5 billion in June 2020.
As part of its shift towards cleaner energy, TotalEnergies Kenya announced its rebrand to TotalEnergies Marketing Kenya Plc in June 2021. The company aims to provide clean and accessible energy through the distribution and sale of affordable solar lanterns in all its service stations nationwide.
With a positive future outlook, TotalEnergies expects improved performance in the remaining half of the year.
