With just hours to go before its official launch on August 17th, the Google Pixel 5a is generating excitement among tech enthusiasts. The latest images shared by Android Police provide a glimpse into the smartphone's hardware, showcasing a minor design change and a larger battery compared to its predecessor, the Pixel 4a 5G.
According to Max Weinbach, a notable leaker, the Pixel 5a's design is largely similar to the Pixel 4a 5G, with a few notable differences. The back of the phone feels slightly rubbery, and the Power button is marginally roughened. The camera configuration is identical to the Pixel 4a 5G, and an earphone jack is visible in one of the images.
The battery, with a capacity of 4,680 mAh, is the largest in a Pixel phone to date. This is not surprising, given that the Pixel 5a 5G is expected to have a 6.4-inch display, making it slightly larger than its predecessor. The phone is also expected to be powered by the Snapdragon 765 processor, which is the same chip used in the Pixel 4a.
As for the pricing, rumors suggest that the Pixel 5a will be available in the US and Japan, with a price tag of $450 (approximately KSH 45,230). While this is not confirmed, it is likely that the phone will be priced similarly to its predecessor.
