Kenya Reports 1,437 New Covid-19 Cases Amid Rising Positivity Rate

On August 13, 2021, Kenya's Ministry of Health reported 1,437 new Covid-19 cases, out of 10,764 tested samples, with a positivity rate of 15.7%.

According to the Ministry, the country's recovery rate rose to 201,054 after 1,056 patients recovered from the disease, including 963 who were cleared from the home-based isolation and care program.

Health CS Mutahi Kagwe stated that 1,938 patients are admitted in healthcare facilities countrywide, including 136 under the Intensive Care Unit and 649 on supplementary oxygen.
