Published on August 12, 2021
Google News is a powerful tool for staying up-to-date on international events and accessing news from reliable sources. However, your feed may contain irrelevant stories that take up valuable space, causing you to miss essential information. In this article, we'll show you how to customize your Google News feed to receive better content.
By following your interests and selecting specific topics or sources, you can control the news that appears in your feed. This means you can eliminate irrelevant news and focus on the topics that matter most to you.
Google allows you to choose which news or items you want to see, making it easy to stay informed about issues that interest you. Whether you're a sports fan or a TV show enthusiast, you can select what you want to view and follow or unfollow specific topics.
To change your Google News language and region on a desktop, follow these steps:
- Enter your account and open Google News in your browser.
- Click the hamburger icon in the top-left corner of your screen to access the Main Menu.
- Scroll down and click Language & Region to change your settings.
On mobile devices, you can change your language and region by:
- Logging into your Google News account and starting the app.
- Tapping your profile image in the top-right corner of your screen.
- Clicking on News Settings to change your language and region.
Once you've changed your language and region, you can start exploring your interests and customizing your news feed. To follow a topic or source, type it into the search box and click the Follow icon. You can also ask Google to show more of a specific type of news or hide it entirely by navigating to the For You section of the Main Menu.
On mobile devices, you can search for a topic, place, event, or news publication and tap the Star icon to follow it. To see more similar content, tap the More icon in the For You section, and to stop seeing such news, tap Dislike.
By customizing your Google News feed, you can find more relevant news and stay informed about the topics that matter most to you.
