On Tuesday, Kenya's Sports Cabinet Secretary Amina Mohammed hosted Harambee Stars to a luncheon by the River Nile in Cairo, Egypt, as part of efforts to boost their spirits after a disappointing Africa Cup of Nations campaign.
The team had lunch during a cruise of the iconic river, a gesture aimed at lifting their morale.
CS Amina thanked the team and urged them to work hard to return to the Africa Cup of Nations in two years' time, saying, 'Rome was not built in a day.'
Kenya Ambassador to Egypt H.E. Major General (Rtd) Joff Otieno was also in attendance and praised the team, saying, 'You have done us proud.'
The team's performance in the tournament has been mixed, with a 3-0 loss to Senegal in their final Group C match at the 30 June Stadium on Monday night.
Kenya started their campaign in Egypt with a 2-0 loss to Algeria on June 23 before recovering to hit neighbours Tanzania 3-2 on Thursday.
