On August 6, 2021, PharmaGo, a South African startup, revolutionized the way people access vital medications with the launch of its mobile app.
The free app, available on Google Play for Android and the Apple App Store for iOS, enables users to receive same-day and next-day deliveries of medications at the click of a button.
PharmaGo's platform ensures information security and confidentiality by passing on clients' prescriptions to a Pharmacy Panel, which is only accessible to the pharmacist filling the prescription.
Users can pay using credit or debit cards or submit their medical aid directly. The app leverages a countrywide network of 73 pharmacies, offering unique fee-free delivery within a 20-50 kilometer radius, depending on the area.
Founder Raees Carim expressed his satisfaction with the app's initial launch phase, stating, "We've already seen the power – and necessity – of PharmaGo in our initial launch phase."
Carim aims to expand the network of supplying pharmacies to better serve more people across the country and is also looking to deliver products beyond the pharmaceutical space, including health, wellness, and beauty products.
