August 1, 2021, marked the end of an era for Radio Africa as media personality Carol Radull bid farewell to the station after 21 years.
Radull, a sports enthusiast, made the announcement on social media, revealing that she had decided to leave the station to pursue her passion for sports.
"Saturday, July 31, marks the end of a 21-year relationship," Radull stated, reflecting on her time at Radio Africa. "I joined the Radio Africa Group on August 8, 2000, as a news reporter and was soon promoted to head of News at Kiss 100."
During her tenure, Radull achieved numerous milestones, including launching the RAL Digital department and hiring talented individuals who went on to rise through the ranks in the media industry.
Among her notable achievements was the launch of Radio Jambo in 2008, which she led as the station's first Programme Controller.
Radull also took pride in scouting and hiring talented individuals, including Bramwell Mwololo, Fred Arocho, Idah Waringa, and Mukami Wambora.
While expressing gratitude to her fans for their support over the years, Radull announced that she would be returning to the airwaves in two weeks' time, teaming up with "Great Roy" Karuhize and Kieni Githinji to continue pushing the sports agenda.
Before joining Radio Africa, Radull worked as the head of East African Producer for the BBC World Service between July 1997 and April 1999.
