Covid-19 Update: 976 New Cases, 10 Fatalities

As of July 26th, 2021, Kenya's Covid-19 positivity rate stands at 14.2%.

Of the 976 new cases, 939 are Kenyans, while 37 are foreigners. The cases comprise 468 males and 508 females, with the youngest being a one-year-old baby and the oldest being 99 years old.

The total number of confirmed positive cases now stands at 198,935, with cumulative tests conducted reaching 2,103,997.

Today, 969 patients have recovered from the disease, with 856 recovering from the Home-Based Isolation and Care Program and 113 from various health facilities countrywide.

Unfortunately, 10 patients have succumbed to the disease, all of whom were late deaths reported after conducting facility record audits in March, June, and July 2021. This now pushes the cumulative fatalities to 3,882.

Currently, 1,276 patients are admitted in various health facilities countrywide, while 3,613 are under the Home-Based Isolation and Care program.

Additionally, 172 patients are in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU), with 37 on ventilatory support and 84 on supplemental oxygen. 51 patients are under observation, and 395 patients are separately on supplemental oxygen, with 349 in general wards and 46 in High Dependency Units (HDU).

As of July 26th, 2021, a total of 1,682,899 vaccines have been administered across the country, with 1,049,847 first doses and 633,052 second doses. The uptake of the second dose among those who received their first dose is at 60.3%, with the majority being males at 55% and females at 45%.
