On July 27, 2021, a thanksgiving concert was held to appreciate President Uhuru Kenyatta, Raila Odinga, and SK Macharia for championing the rights of musicians who had complained about oppressive royalties rates.

Mejja's hit song Tabia za Wakenya was played in honour of Odinga, who had expressed his love for the song. The song's popularity was a testament to Odinga's influence, as it trended for a whole day after he tweeted about it.

Ben Githae, the MC, praised Odinga's influence, saying, “The former PM can tweet about a song and make it trend for a whole day. This shows how influential he is, lets all stand and dance to the jam.”

While Odinga and SK Macharia danced on the podium, James Orengo and Laikipia Governor, Ndiritu Muriithi, decided to join a group of dancers on the stage and showcase their moves. Orengo, a seasoned 69-year-old lawyer and ODM party bigwig, showcased his dancing prowess, outshining his son Michael in the process.

The concert was organised to appreciate the efforts of President Uhuru Kenyatta, Odinga, and SK Macharia in passing a new law that gives musicians up to 41% royalties fees, a significant increase from the previous 16%.
