Kenya has recorded 976 new COVID-19 cases in the last 24 hours, bringing the total number of confirmed cases to 198,935.
According to Health CS Mutahi Kagwe, the new cases were identified from a sample size of 6,896, giving a positivity rate of 14.2%.
The youngest person to test positive is a one-year-old baby, while the oldest is 99 years old.
Of the new cases, 939 are Kenyans, while 37 are foreigners. The distribution of cases by age is as follows: 0-9 years (28), 10-19 years (58), 20-29 years (177), 30-39 years (238), 40-49 years (181), 50-59 years (125), and 60 years and above (169).
On July 26th, 2021, a total of 1,682,899 vaccines had been administered across the country, with 1,049,847 first doses and 633,052 second doses.
As of July 26th, 2021, the uptake of the second dose among those who received their first dose was at 60.3%, with the majority being males at 55% and females at 45%.
