On July 27, 2021, the body of police officer Caroline Kangogo was moved to Moi Teaching Referral Hospital for a post-mortem examination, after the initial autopsy scheduled for last week was postponed.

Government pathologist Dr Johansen Oduor will lead the examination process, as authorities seek to establish the cause and manner of her death.

Caroline Kangogo was found dead in a bathroom at her parents' home in Elgeyo Marakwet on July 16, more than a week after her colleague John Ogweno was found shot in his car at Kasarani police lines, Nakuru.

Days later, businessman Peter Ndwiga was also found shot dead at a lodging in Juja town, with both deaths linked to the female officer.

Her family had announced plans to bury her last Saturday at her parents' farm in Anin, Keiyo North Sub-county, but the burial was postponed after a stand-off between the family and the Directorate of Criminal Investigation (DCI).

‘I am just asking for the body of my daughter to be released. It is shocking that on Tuesday, the DCI informed us to plan for Saturday burial since the autopsy will be conducted on the eve of the funeral,' said Barnaba Korir.
