On July 27, 2021, Maliyo Games, a Lagos-based mobile game development studio, announced a partnership with Google to launch the GameUp Bootcamp in Ghana, Kenya, and Nigeria.
With a portfolio of over 40 mobile games, Maliyo Games aims to equip aspiring game developers with the skills needed to create casual Android games.
The GameUp Bootcamp is a self-paced and project-based learning system that will take place virtually between August and December 2021.
Selected participants will learn how to refine, package, and develop games, with instructors providing regular assessments and evaluations.
As part of the curriculum, participants will benefit from valuable peer support from the African gaming community and access to course materials and necessary applications.
Applications for the GameUp Bootcamp are open to students from Nigeria, Ghana, and Kenya until August 2nd.
