On Sunday, July 25, a tragic incident unfolded in Sotik, Bomet County, where a man took the lives of his wife and himself in a heart-wrenching act of desperation.

According to sources, the incident was sparked by a domestic dispute over the man's decision to sell chicken to raise funds for their children's school uniforms.

Despite the efforts of neighbours and relatives to rush the wife to Kaplong Mission Hospital for emergency care, she succumbed to her injuries on the way.

Neighbours recounted the horrific events, saying they heard screams at night and later discovered the man had butchered his wife. They attempted to take her to the hospital, but unfortunately, she passed away.

One of the neighbours revealed that the man had previously attempted to take his own life at least four times by taking poison.

Area residents are now appealing for help from the government and well-wishers to support the four children left behind by the deceased.
