Covid-19 Update: 1,324 Hospitalised as Positivity Rate Hits 13.5%

On July 25th 2021, Health CS Mutahi Kagwe announced a significant increase in Covid-19 cases, with a positivity rate of 13.5%.

Out of the total cases, 528 were Kenyans, while 22 were foreigners. The cases were evenly distributed among females and males, with 284 females and 266 males affected.

The youngest case was a 10-month-old baby, while the oldest was 93 years old. The total number of confirmed positive cases had reached 197,959, with a cumulative total of 2,097,101 tests conducted.

786 patients had recovered from the disease, with 738 recovering from the Home-Based Isolation and Care program and 48 from various health facilities countrywide.

Unfortunately, 7 patients had succumbed to the disease, all of whom were late deaths reported after conducting facility record audits in July 2021. This brought the cumulative fatalities to 3,872.

As of July 25th 2021, a total of 1,673,272 vaccines had been administered across the country, with 1,047,592 first doses and 625,680 second doses given.
