Kwale Women Urged to Form Saccos for Economic Empowerment

On July 26, 2021, the acting Kwale County Cooperative Commissioner, Mohammed Mkanga, emphasized the importance of women forming Saccos in the county.

Speaking to Sacco Review in Kwale town, Mkanga urged women to cooperate fully and form Saccos to uplift their living standards.

He explained that forming Saccos would enable women to save and access bigger loans to implement their development projects more efficiently and effectively.

"You should form Saccos and sustain them to enable you get money to boost your undertakings," Mkanga told women in the region.

He also encouraged residents who have not joined Saccos in the county to do so in large numbers and invest heavily, as they would benefit from loans since their daily wages are not enough to implement their personal projects.

Mkanga further emphasized the importance of Sacco members remaining united and patronizing their Saccos to enable them offer quality and professional service.

He noted that the Cooperative Movement plays a vital role in the country, having uplifted the living standards of people.
