Published on July 26, 2021, President Uhuru Kenyatta is set to arrive in London for the Global Education Summit, where he will co-chair the event alongside British Prime Minister Boris Johnson.

The summit aims to raise $5 billion (Sh541 billion) to educate children in developing countries across the world over the next five years.

During his three-day visit, Uhuru will also meet members of the Royal Family and jointly announce investments into Big Four projects, including affordable housing, manufacturing, and health partnerships.

He will also attend an event at West London's Kew Gardens to celebrate the Kenya-UK Year of Climate Action and Kenya's leadership on climate change in Africa ahead of COP26.

Uhuru's visit comes after a 45-minute phone call with Prime Minister Johnson in April, where they agreed to raise USD5 billion (Sh540 billion) education fund to help 175 million children around the world get into school.
