On July 21, Wycliffe Omwenga's lifeless body was discovered in his house in Riruta, with a few bloodstains present. The incident has left his family in shock, particularly given the mysterious circumstances surrounding his death, which occurred less than a year after his brother's brutal murder.

According to Wycliffe's uncle, Kennedy Ongwae, the family is seeking answers from authorities regarding the manner in which police officers at the station behaved. Ongwae had spoken to Wycliffe on the phone the day before his body was discovered and had sent him to an insurance firm for some transactions.

However, when Wycliffe failed to pick up his calls on July 21, Ongwae sent a bodaboda rider and his sister to his house, where they discovered the body. The house was found to be locked from the inside, and police are now looking for an unidentified woman who was allegedly seen leaving the house late on July 20.

As the investigation into Wycliffe's death continues, a team of detectives from the DCI headquarters has joined the probe, with the aim of establishing the motive behind his killing. DCI boss George Kinoti has raised questions about the conduct of officers at the station, stating that Wycliffe could have been killed by parties with an interest in various issues at hand.

On Friday, the team revisited the scene where Wycliffe's body was found and interrogated neighbors and witnesses, as well as police officers at the station over their conduct. The relatives of the deceased were forced to use their private means to transport the body to the mortuary after the officers at the station claimed they did not have a vehicle.

Wycliffe was yet to testify in his brother's murder case, which involved gold dealer Chris Obure and his security guard Robert Bodo Ouko, who were arrested and charged with the murder.
