Published on July 26, 2021, Senator Millicent Omanga has denied claims of being arrested at a Nairobi nightclub for flouting COVID-19 curfew orders.
Reports on social media had indicated that the Deputy President William Ruto supporter was arrested at a Hurlingham nightclub and locked up at Kileleshwa Police Station.
However, Omanga took to Facebook to dismiss the claims, stating that she was at home and enjoying her sleep.
“My people, I’m okay and enjoying my sleep. The rumours are just propaganda,” she wrote.
Her denial comes just two days after DP Ruto ally and Mathira MP Rigathi Gachagua was arrested by DCI detectives at his Nyeri home on July 23.
Gachagua maintained that allegations levelled against him do not hold water, and expressed confidence in being vindicated in a court of law.
