ODM Revokes Nerea Oketch's Nomination as Women's League Chair

On July 25, 2021, the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) took a significant step in reorganizing its Women's League by nullifying the nomination of Nerea Oketch as the chairperson. The decision was made by the party's coordinating committee delegates in Homa Bay County, led by Chairperson Gladys Wanga, Secretary Ong'ondo Were, and his deputy Eve Obara.

Oketch's nomination, which was made a fortnight ago, was revoked due to irregularities in the process. According to Were, the nomination was done without proper procedure, and Oketch did not meet the necessary requirements to hold the position. He stated,
