On a day of mixed fortunes in the FKF Premier League, Vihiga United revived their survival hopes after defeating Western Stima 2-0 in a tight match played at ASK Showground in Nakuru on Sunday, July 25, 2021.

Wycliffe Nthata and Stewart Omondi scored in each half for Vihiga, who registered their fourth win of the campaign.

The victory saw Vihiga end their seven-match winless run and revived their survival hopes after moving to within a point of safety.

They are currently 15th with 20 points, a point behind Stima, and five points above bottom-placed Mathare United.

Elsewhere, William Wadri scored in the 77th minute as Bandari narrowly edged out Posta Rangers in a tight match played at Mbaraki Stadium in Mombasa.

The win took Bandari level on points with defending champions Gor Mahia at 40 points and leapfrogged them into sixth place courtesy of a superior goal difference, but with the record Kenyan champions having a game in hand.

Meanwhile, Kakamega Homeboyz fought from a goal down to defeat Sofapaka 2-1 in Wundanyi.

Sebastien Sunday gave Sofapaka a first-half lead after scoring in the 27th minute, but Stephen Opoku restored parity for Homeboyz in the 50th minute, and Stephen Wakanya sealed all three points for Homeboyz in the 76th minute.

Despite the win, Homeboyz remained ninth with 37 points.

Back in Nakuru, second-half substitute Dan Sunguti scored at the death to salvage a point for AFC Leopards who forced a 2-2 draw against Nzoia Sugar at ASK Showground.

Elvis Rupia had given Leopards a first-half lead after scoring in the fifth minute, but Nzoia Sugar hit back with quick second-half goals that almost gave them the win.

Ingwe would, however, rally late to deny Nzoia a much-deserved win with Sunguti netting in the 90th minute.

Finally, Vincent Oburu scored a brace inside two minutes to inspire Wazito to a 2-1 win over bottom-placed Mathare United in Thika.
