Former Imenti Member of Parliament Gideon Mwiti has passed away at the age of 57, his family has confirmed.
According to sources close to the family, Mwiti died on Sunday, July 25th, at an undisclosed hospital in Nairobi in the morning.
The former MP had developed diabetes-related complications and was rushed to the hospital, where he succumbed before being attended to by doctors.
Mwiti won the Central Imenti Parliamentary seat on a Jubilee ticket and represented the constituents of Imenti for five years between 2013 and 2017.
After losing the seat to current MP Moses Kirima, Mwiti announced that he would be taking a short break from active politics to venture into the corporate world.
