Kenya's Covid-19 Cases Hit 196,745, Deaths Rise to 3,849

Kenya has recorded 847 new Covid-19 cases from 6,080 samples tested in the last 24 hours, bringing the national tally to 196,745.

As of July 24, 2021, the country's cumulative number of samples tested stands at 2,087,582, with a positivity rate of 13.9 per cent.

Health Cabinet Secretary Mutahi Kagwe announced that the new cases comprise 820 Kenyans and 27 foreigners, with 485 males and 362 females affected.

The youngest case is a five-month-old baby, while the oldest is 97 years old.

Of the new cases, 722 patients have recovered, with 567 from the Home-Based Care Program and 155 discharged from various hospitals.

Sadly, 11 more patients have succumbed to the disease, bringing the fatality to 3,849.

There are currently 1,277 patients admitted in various health facilities countrywide, while 3,705 are under Home-Based Isolation and Care.
