July 24, 2021, Tokyo, Japan - The Tokyo Olympics witnessed a thrilling featherweight duel between Kenya's Nick Okoth and Mongolian Erdenebat Tsendbaatar, with the latter emerging victorious in a split decision.

Okoth's hopes for an Olympic medal took a hit as he lost 3-2 on points in a closely contested match.

The Mongolian's strong performance in the opening round earned him a maximum score from three judges, while two gave Okoth the maximum score of 10.

Okoth bounced back in the second round, using his strong right-hand jab and wide reach to secure a maximum points score from three judges, while two gave the Mongolian a maximum score.

However, in the third round, Okoth's fatigue allowed the Mongolian to outscore him, with three judges giving him a 10 while only two gave the Kenyan a 10.
