Nandi Senator Samson Cherargei has thrown his weight behind Gatundu South MP Moses Kuria, urging Deputy President William Ruto to select him as his running mate in the 2022 presidential election.
Speaking in Mosoriot town on July 22, Cherargei introduced Kuria to the residents of Nandi county, saying they were praying that he becomes Ruto's deputy president in 2022.
Cherargei argued that Kuria has the qualities and experience to deputise Ruto, citing his unwavering support to the Deputy President in the political arena.
"I have told him to relax there; who knows, he might be the running mate of William Ruto in 2022," Cherargei said.
At the same event, Cherargei persuaded the residents of Nandi to register as voters, emphasizing that their votes are the only weapon they have to win the 2022 presidential election.
MP Moses Kuria, who was present at the event, said he was representing Ruto because the Deputy President was engaged elsewhere.
