Kenya's Emerging Stars have secured a spot in the semi-finals of the Cecafa U-23 Championship in Ethiopia, where they will face Burundi.

Kenya topped Group C with six maximum points after winning all their matches, including a 3-0 victory over Djibouti on Sunday, 18th July.

Burundi, on the other hand, topped Group B with four maximum points after drawing 1-1 with Ethiopia in a match staged at Bahir Dar International Stadium on Friday, 23rd July.

‘It has been a very tough game and Ethiopia kept us under a lot of pressure. But I am glad we managed to get the draw and progress to the semi-finals,’ Burundi’s coach Ndayizeye was quoted as saying by the Cecafa online portal.

Hosts Ethiopia finished second in the group with two points, while Eritrea came third with one point.
