On 30 June, at the 30 June Stadium in Cairo, Senegal secured a convincing 3-0 win over Kenya in the final Group C match of the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations, advancing to the last 16 as group runners-up behind Algeria.

Senegal's Ismaila Sarr scored the first goal in the 63rd minute after a teasing cross found him unmarked in Kenya's box, with Patrick Matasi caught out of position.

Matasi misjudged his run and fell on defender Philemon Otieno as the ball fell for Sarr, who calmly slotted home to give Senegal the lead.

Senegal's Sadio Mane outmuscled Musa Mohammed to beat Matasi with a low drive in the 71st minute, doubling the lead for the Lions of Teranga.

Mane made amends for his first-half penalty miss when he scored from the spot in the 78th minute, securing a convincing win for Senegal.

Kenya's Harambee Stars started strongly in the first 10 minutes, pinning Senegal in their half, but created very little to unsettle the West Africans.

Matasi saved Sadio Mane's weak penalty in the 26th minute and another brilliant save from Sarr to hold Senegal in the first half.
