July 23, 2021, marked a challenging period for small businesses worldwide, with many forced to close due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.

Former news anchor Betty Kyalo, who runs the high-end beauty parlour Kinyozi Flair By Betty, recently shared her business's struggles, citing financial difficulties faced by Kenyans.

"I won't lie, over the last couple of months, business has not been so good because you know Kenyans are going through a lot of things especially financially," Betty said.

As a result, Flair by Betty has been forced to review its prices to ensure it can cater to its clientele and avoid long braiding sessions due to unaffordability.

Established three years ago, the beauty shop was born out of a split with former business partner Susan Kaittany, who co-owned Posh Palace.
