Guinea's captain, Naby Keita, has been flown back to Liverpool for further assessment after sustaining a thigh injury in Guinea's second Group B tie against Nigeria at the 2019 Nations Cup in Egypt.
Keita, 24, was left on the bench in Guinea's third game in Group B against Burundi, which they won 2-0, as the west African nation took no risks with his injury.
According to a report on UK Mirror, citing Journalist Amadou Makadji, Keita left Egypt on Sunday evening, June 30, via a private jet to Liverpool, where he will be assessed by a Liverpool doctor.
Guinea currently sits third in Group B with four points and will have to wait to see if they can qualify as one of the four best losers.
