On July 21, 2021, Professor PLO Lumumba, a renowned law professor, author, and pan-African crusader, concluded his Midwest tour with a powerful visit to George Floyd Square in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
The event, organized by the One Voice Consortium in collaboration with KDRTV News and the Diaspora Policy Institute, was themed 'Can Africa Redefine Herself' and was live-streamed by KDRTV News from the venue.
Dr. Arikana Chihombori, who spoke remotely, urged Africans to wake up and redeem themselves, emphasizing that time was running out to seek the truth about African bondage by the West.
Professor Lumumba's US tour aimed to meet with the African Diaspora and forge ties to improve Africa in key areas such as healthcare, infrastructure, technology, and education, in collaboration with the PLO Lumumba Foundation.
At George Floyd Square, a relative of George Floyd shared the ordeal with Professor Lumumba, accompanied by NAACP officials. The professor was visibly emotional, shedding tears as he struggled to give a brief remark.
