On June 30, 2019, police arrested 71-year-old John Kasoloyi Nzoka in connection with the alleged rape of his 19-year-old mentally challenged granddaughter.
According to court records, the incident occurred in August 2018 at Mathare North in Ruaraka, Nairobi County.
Nzoka was charged with intentionally and unlawfully committing incest with his granddaughter, contrary to Section 20(1) of the Sexual Offences Act of Kenya.
He pleaded not guilty to the charges and was released on a cash bail of Ksh.100,000 or an alternative bond of Ksh.200,000.
On Monday, Nzoka appeared before Magistrate Hellen Okwani in a Nairobi court.
