Manchester United players kicked off their pre-season training at Carrington on Monday, but the team was missing one of its key players - Paul Pogba.
According to reports, Pogba was in America over the weekend, training privately with a coach in the gym and at the New York Red Bull stadium.
His absence from the team's first day of training has sparked rumors about his future at Manchester United, with Real Madrid and Juventus reportedly interested in signing him.
The Red Devils are said to be demanding a huge fee, at least £150m, to part with their central midfielder, and contingency plans are in place with a shortlist of potential replacements.
Meanwhile, Real Madrid have launched a formal bid for Ajax star Donny van de Beek, who is viewed as a cheaper option than Pogba.
However, United have been boosted by Marcus Rashford agreeing a new long-term contract extension, securing his Old Trafford future after links to Barcelona.
