On July 18, 2021, a tumultuous marriage came to an end, and the reasons behind it are now public knowledge. Eunice Wanene, the ex-wife of comedian Terence, whose real name is Lawrence Macharia, has spoken out about the toxic relationship they shared.
According to Wanene, the couple's relationship was marked by violence and infidelity. She revealed that Terence's drinking habits were a major issue, often leading to unrest and physical altercations. 'The drinking was bad, and as you know where there is drinking, there is unrest,' Wanene said. 'Sometimes I would find myself hit on the face. It was not easy.'
Wanene also alleged that she and Terence were both violent, often triggering each other's anger. 'We were both violent,' she said. 'When he triggers me, I would also activate him. He would compel me to leave him.'
The relationship was further complicated by Terence's alleged infidelity. Wanene claimed that she discovered he was seeing another woman, Milly Chebby, who would often contact him and even visit him at their home. 'When he commenced working on Churchill, I began detecting a new number calling him,' Wanene said. 'The number even used to text me, so I knew it. She would ask me about Terence's location. It reached a point where I would receive messages from her.'
Wanene's revelations paint a picture of a toxic and volatile relationship that ultimately led to their marriage's demise. As she put it, 'The minute you realize your man has another woman out there, you are never happy, so there was no peace for both of us.'
