On July 18, 2021, the world was shocked by the tragic death of policewoman Caroline Kangogo, who left behind a heartbreaking suicide note detailing her struggles with her estranged husband, Richard Ng'eno.
According to the note, Kangogo had never known peace in her life since meeting Ng'eno, citing his mistreatment and infidelity as the reasons for her distress. She wrote, “Since I met you, my husband, I have never known peace due to your mistreatments. Always chasing after women tortured me physically, mentally and the likes of Peter Ndigwa. Since everything happened please take good care of our kids and don’t neglect them – as your first wife. Please don’t take advantage of love…current divorce,”
Ng'eno, who is the scroll commandant in charge of Marine Unit at the Kenya Coast Guard, has spoken out about Kangogo's death, revealing that their two children, aged 8 and 11, are devastated by her passing. He said, “The kids are safe but they are devastated. Let us allow them to go through their mourning peacefully, please,”
Ng'eno further added that he was travelling to Bomet to process all that had happened.
