On a fateful day, a couple from Elburgon, Nakuru, bid farewell to life, leaving behind a legacy of love and memories that will be cherished for generations to come.
Francis Njoroge Ng'ang'a, 72, and his wife Mary Wangui Njoroge, 71, passed away last week, their deaths a poignant reminder of the transience of life.
According to their grandson, Francis Njoroge, the couple's sudden demise shocked the extended family, as they had no history of chronic illness.
"My grandmother was in good health until last Sunday when she suddenly got ill and was rushed to the Nakuru Level Five Hospital. She succumbed five days later," Francis recalled.
After being informed of his wife's passing, Francis Njoroge was requested to travel to the hospital to sign documents before Wangui's body was moved to the mortuary.
However, upon his return home, he felt unwell and could not eat. His relatives sought medical attention for him, but unfortunately, he passed away at Njoro sub-county hospital.
During the burial event, one of the couple's daughters, Purity Wanjugu, paid tribute to her father, saying he had impacted many lives.
"We have lost a father, a teacher, and a mentor. We will really miss him and our mother too," she said.
The couple is survived by seven children and 16 grandchildren, a testament to their enduring love and commitment to each other.
