On July 13th, Kamene Goro made a joke on Kiss FM that sparked outrage among Kenyans on Twitter, joking about mental health with the phrase 'Mental Health na hamna akili.'

The post, which has since been deleted, angered a section of KOT who lectured Goro on the seriousness of mental health.

Legendary journalist Catherine Kasavuli, who has recently announced her TV comeback, was among those who spoke out against Goro's joke. Kasavuli shared her personal experience with mental health, writing on Twitter, 'Yesterday I literally cried when I saw someone joking about #mentalhealth. These aren't things to joke about, until it hits home, it hits so different, ask me.'

Kasavuli has become a KOT favorite after announcing her TV comeback and will be hosting a new show dubbed 'Legend Edition' every Saturday on KBC Channel 1.

Goro has yet to respond to the backlash, with only crickets coming from her side.
