On July 17, 2021, a group of residents from Kangemi descended upon a local hospital in a bid to rescue a man who had been detained over his wife's medical bill.
The family had paid a total of Sh52,000 in three installments through M-Pesa, but the hospital allegedly refused to release the man, sparking outrage among the community.
The residents, who were reportedly furious over the situation, stormed the hospital to demand the man's release, bringing the situation to a head.
