Deputy President William Ruto's office was embroiled in a Sh 180 million fake laptop tender scandal several years ago.

At the center of the scheme was Allan Chesang, a 31-year-old man who has been spotted with politicians, including Oscar Sudi and Caleb Kositany.

Chesang and his associates enticed a city businessman into endorsing a fake laptops deal at Harambee House Annex, claiming the laptops were destined for the Ministry of Devolution.

The businessman lost over Sh 181 million in the deal.

Chesang used the money to open a prominent entertainment joint in Thika called Club Garage.

He is also planning to vie for a Senatorial seat next year.

Chesang's lavish lifestyle has raised eyebrows, with him often swapping top-of-the-range vehicles according to his clothing colour.
