Kenya's Harambee Stars will face Tanzania in the first round of the African Nations Championship (CHAN) 2020, following a decision by the Confederation of African Football (CAF) to amend its fixtures.

Initially, the team was scheduled to play Burundi in the first round, but CAF decided to include minnows Djibouti in the tournament instead.

As a result, Harambee Stars will now face Tanzania's Taifa Stars in the first round, with the first leg scheduled to take place in Tanzania between July 26 and 28, and the second leg to be staged in Nairobi in early August.

Football Kenya Federation confirmed the change in a statement, saying, "The Kenya national football team, Harambee Stars, is set to face Tanzania in the first round of the 2020 Africa Nations Championships Qualifiers, set to be played this month."

"Having been scheduled to face Burundi in fixtures released by the Confederation of African Football early this year, Kenya now has a new opponent in the Taifa Stars," the statement continued.

Should Harambee Stars make it out of the group, they will face the winner of the tie between Ethiopia and new entrants Djibouti.
