Kenyan Comedian Opens Up About Multiple Rapes

Comedian Brendah Jons, known for her popular character Plesident Kingstone, has revealed that she was raped last year by a church member in Ruaka.

According to Jons, she met the man in church and they became friends, but he had several red flags that she ignored. The man, who claimed to be a divorcee with three kids, would often bring her dinner at her place, but never showed her where his house was.

One day, the man showed up at her house drunk and raped her. Jons said she pushed him away and ran to the bedroom, locking the door, but he still managed to rape her as she begged him to stop.

This is not the first time Jons has opened up about her rape ordeals. At the age of 5, she was raped by her uncle, who threatened to kill her if she reported him. When she was 12, she was raped by her aunt's husband, who dared her to report him, saying no one would believe her because he was a man of cloth.

As a result of the trauma, Jons has been left with emotional scars and has struggled to cope with the aftermath of the rapes.

On July 17, 2021, Jons shared her story on YouTube, hoping to raise awareness about the prevalence of rape and the need for support for survivors.
