On June 23, 2016, lawyer Willie Kimani, his client Josephat Mwenda, and driver Joseph Muiruri were brutally murdered in Mololongo, Kenya. The case against four police officers accused of their killing resumed at the High Court on [published_at].
Nicholas Ole Sena, a DCI officer and witness number 44, testified that Silvia Wanjiku, one of the accused, was in charge of the cells at Syokimau police post that night. Despite knowing the three men were detained, Wanjiku allegedly declined to provide crucial information that could have saved their lives.
“Your honour, Sylvia Wanjiku was in charge of the cells and she had knowledge that the three men were in the cells, but she declined to give out the information which was useful in saving them,” Ole Sena said, in response to cross-examination by lawyer Katwa Kigen.
