Kenyan Golfers Shine in Weekend Tournaments

On the weekend, golfers gathered at the Kenya Railway Golf Club for the fifth leg of the 2019 Crown Silicone Golf Challenge. The event saw a field of 108 players compete for the top spot, with former Railway Golf Club captain Simeon Onyango emerging as the winner.

Playing off a handicap of eight, Onyango carded 38 points to take the title, beating men's winner G.S. Padam on countback. Wainaina Kungu finished second in the men's category with 37 points.

Meanwhile, at the Limuru course, Rodrick Munuhe won the overall title during the CIC Insurance Group tournament, carding 39 points. Arshad Sheikh took the men's title with 38 points, beating Francis Kimani on countback.

At the Sigona course, the pair of K.D. Shah and Alim Popat won the second leg of the Windhoek International Pairs golf series, carding 46 points. They beat the pair of Peter Kiguru and David Mukuria by two points.

Other notable winners included Leonard Soo, who won the DT Dobie golf tournament at the Kericho Golf Club with 37 points, and Christine Nyangena, who took the women's prize with 35 points.

Elsewhere, golfers gathered at Ruiru, Nakuru, Thika, and Arusha for various tournaments, with several players emerging victorious. The winners included Fr Wilfred Mwaura, Gabriel Muthwale, Irene Wamoro, Daniel Ndeke, Brenda Maiyo, Umarpal Jutley, Sarat Singh, Patrick Gakuo, N. Nganga, and A. Aggarwal.
